God Has Done His Part… Now It’s Your Turn: What Part Will You Play in the Final Step? Not Equal Giving, Equal Sacrifice We do not have the expectation that each member will make the same contribution, but we do hold the expectation that every individual who considers himself a covenant partner with The ROCK will sacrifice at the same level – the highest level possible. We are going to need the commitment and support of every Don’t Just ‘Give’ – Sacrifice Everyone, regardless of age, gender, profession, or economic level can make a sacrifice. No matter how little you have, you can sacrifice something. No matter how much excess you have, you can do without something. If the thought of doing without certain things in your life make you feel a sense of loss or hurt, then you know that you’re really giving. Remember Our FOUR Ways to Give: “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
Ask God for creative ways to increase your gift. Consider extra income from savings, tax refunds, garage sales, inheritances, bonuses, an extra part-time job, reducing expenses, or deferring a major purchase. Involve your whole family in raising a specific amount and give as much of your commitment as possible as an act of worship.
You can give far more when it is spread out over time. The Bible teaches that your faith and spiritual maturity develop through the habit of weekly, consistent giving. If you’ve ever committed to a monthly auto, mortgage, or rental payment, certainly you can make a consistent giving commitment to God.
You can give real estate, stocks, bonds, coins, gold, cars, boats, etc. This is an easy way to leverage your giving to the work of the ministry. Asset giving also allows you to take full advantage of the tax benefits the government allows. Please contact Elder Julia Floyd at The ROCK by calling (281) 585-1004
If you own a business or have skills that can assist The ROCK in the building process, you may be able to donate to the church and possibly benefit from tax advantages through your gifts while lowering the overall building costs of our first building. For more details on how to offer an in-kind gift, please contact Elder Julia Floyd at The ROCK by calling (281) 585-1004 or e-mailing jfloyd@therockalvin.com. |
